Dr. Đokanović Lecturer at the Congress in China

Expert associate at the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banja Luka and oncologist at the Oncology Clinic of the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska Dr. Dejan Đokanović was a lecturer at the Chinese Congress of Holistic Integrative Medicine, held in November 2023 in the Chinese city of Tianjin.

At the congress, Đokanović presented on the topic of laryngeal cancer, presenting the results of successful treatment methods used in working with patients suffering from this type of tumor.

This lecture, which is closely related to research as part of Dr. Đokanović's doctoral dissertation, attracted the attention of experts from various oncological and non-oncological medical branches, exploring ways to combine traditional Chinese therapies with modern approaches in order to achieve optimal results in the treatment of oncological patients.

The congress gathered experts from different parts of the world and, thanks to modern technologies, the event was available online to an audience all over China, recording about 80 million viewers. Also, experts from all continents were invited, and this significant global interest testifies to the importance of the congress, but also to a key step towards connecting different medical approaches in order to improve the treatment of oncology patients.

Doctor Đokanović emphasizes the importance of global cooperation in the fight against cancer and the research of the most effective therapeutic approaches.

"The Congress of Holistic Integrative Medicine in China was not only a professional challenge but also an opportunity to build bridges between tradition and modernity in medicine, with the aim of improving the lives of those who suffer from various diseases", Đokanović said.

This congress was an opportunity to exchange knowledge, but also to establish the foundation for future cooperation with oncology centers in China. Doctor Đokanović's stay and participation in this event, which represents a bridge between traditional Chinese medicine and standard medical practice, was enabled by the Confucius Institute of the University of Banja Luka.
