A Classroom for Slovenian language has been opened
GeneralThe newly equipped Classroom for the Slovenian language at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka (FLF UNIBL) was formally opened on 13 March 2025.
As it was said at the event, the opening of the Classroom for the Slovenian language brings teaching Slovenian to a higher level, strengthening the Slavic group of subjects at the University of Banja Luka, at the same time.
The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, while the present were addressed by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Biljana Babić, PhD, Ambassador of Slovenia to BiH, Damijan Sedar, president of Slovenian diaspora community, Dr. Boris Jesih, Dr. Mojca Nidorfer and Dr. Damjan Huber from the Center for Slovenian language as second foreign language at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana, as well as lector of the Slovenian language at the Faculty of Philosophy of the UNIBL, M.Sc. Barbara Hanuš.
The cultural part of the program was performed by the students who attend the Slovenian lectures at the University of Banja Luka, pupils who attend supplemental classes in the Slovenian language, and the Chorus of Slovenian Society “Triglav” from Banja Luka.
Representatives of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana presented a Letter of Gratitude to the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka, for a long-standing successful cooperation.
It should be noted that the equipping of this Classroom at the faculty of Philology was co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia Office for Slovenians in neighboring countries and the world.
