Assistant Professor Ožegović participated in an international conference in Sant Peterburg
GeneralThe third International social-scientific forum “The Balkans dialogue 2025: Montenegro-Russia”, organized by the Center of Russian-Slavic Intercultural Cooperation and Montenegrin Association of Students of the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) from Moscow, was held at the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation on 10 March 2025. Assistant Professor Nikola Ožegović, PhD, took part in the event.
Topics of the forum were: “Russia and the Balkans in the architecture of multipolar world” and “Eighty years of the great victory of the USSR and Yugoslavia over nazi Germany: brothers in arms”. Professors, researchers, and students from the Russian Federation, Bulgaria, Greece, and Montenegro, took part in the proceedings, and Prof. Ožegović was the only participant from the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The topic of his presentation was dedicated to political and military aspects of Soviet-Yugoslav relations in WW2, as well as culture and politics of remembrance of the Serb people about the role the Red Army had in the final liberation of Yugoslavia.
The forum started symbolically, with a Memorial Service (Dirge) on the grave of the Montenegro Metropolitan Vasilije Petrović Njegoš in the Church of the Saint Alexander Nevsky, the oldest and largest monastery in Saint Petersburg. The Forum was held with the support of the Embassy of Montenegro to the Russian Federation.
Assistant Professor Nikola Ožegović, PhD, from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka, is doing a post-doctoral research at the Faculty of Humanities of the National Research University of “Higher School of Economics” in Moscow.
