Official Collaboration with the Institute of Forensic Medicine

The long-standing successful collaboration between the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Banja Luka and the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Republic of Srpska has been officially formalized with the signing of an Agreement on Scientific, Professional and Business Cooperation. The agreement was signed on March 13, 2025, by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Radoslav Dekić, PhD, and the Director of the Institute, Prof. Željko Karan, PhD.

The cooperation between the two institutions is carried out through the exchange of experiences and achievements in science and professional practice, collaboration between employees to enhance their expertise and acquire new knowledge and skills, joint participation in scientific and professional conferences both domestically and internationally, as well as other activities agreed upon by mutual consent of the signatories.

A particularly valuable aspect of this collaboration is the implementation of practical training for students of the Chemistry Study Program, which, starting from the 2024/25 academic year, will take place in the modernly equipped laboratories of the Institute.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, Vice-Rector for Teaching, Student Affairs and Quality at the University of Banja Luka and Head of the Chemistry Study Program, as well as Nikola Damjanović, MA, Head of the Institute’s Toxicology Laboratory and a third-cycle (PhD) student in Chemistry at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
