Introduction with basic types, characteristics and elements of the irrigation systems. Introduction with methods of design of irrigation systems elements. | ||||

Content | ||||
Introduction to irrigation. Hystory, value and main goal. Water management problem of irrigation. Elements of the vertical water balance. Physical properties of the soil. Evapotranspiration calculation and calculation of vertical infiltration. Types and elements of the irrigation systems. Irrigation regime: irrigation norm, watering norm, turnus and duration. Water requirements - determination of the design flow for irrigation system design. Models of water distribution and system design criteria. Sprinkler irrigation. Drip irrigation. Subsurface irrigation. Choice of the method and device for irrigation. Supply and distribution network, structures and and network fittings. Choice of number anf type of pumps and pump station design. Irrigation economics. | ||||
Teaching Methods | ||||
Theoretical classes are conducted in class through lectures on the board and with the presentation technology. Practical classes are conducted in class through the explanation of individual methodological units (parts of the study) and through independent work of students on the development of the task (conceptual design of the irrigation system) in consultation with the subject teacher and associate. | ||||

Specific remarks | ||||
The condition for obtaining a signature from the course and to be able to attend exam is the presence to classes and completion of the a assignment. Colloquia that are not taken during the semester can be taken again in examination terms. |
