Learning objectives | ||||
The main objective of this course is to integrate theories and practice of social work through placement of students in institutions and organizations carrying our social work activities, with the aim to develop an independent and competent professional social worker. | ||||
Learning outcomes | ||||
During the anticipated 160 hours in placement (20 working days) students will be able to: get familiar with social work in institutions/organization; be present, and if assessed by supervisor, actively participate in processed carried put by social worker, be introduced with procedures and activities that include planning and influencing problem solving in local communities; introduced to planning and organization in cases of providing support in crisis (urgent) situations; introduced to the structure of the organization, as well as partners and other relevant institutions and organizations in local community/school, police, health organizations, NGOs etc. | ||||
Content | ||||
Students' placement is consisted of continuous 160 hours in a specific organization under the supervision of a selected supervisor/mentor who is working as social worker. | ||||
Teaching Methods | ||||
This course is carried out in three phases: 1. Preparation lectures prior to placements. Lectures and workshops include interactive participation, discussions and work in small groups. 2. Students' placements (direct practice) in institutions and organizations that provide social work services. All students are supervised. 3.Placement evaluation. | ||||
