      Learning objectives
      The objective of this course is to add to the existing knowledge when it comes to etiology and phenomenology of phenomenon that endanger development of children and pupils and represent a difficult factor throughout the process of education, with negative consequences on development and successful bringing up , socialization, education etc. Also, the aim is to introduce students to different methods and approaches that can be applied in order to overcome different issues and suppress negative consequences that effect children and their families.
      Learning outcomes
      After completing this course students will be able to practically apply the knowledge related to specifics of social work in schools, theories, experiences and different ways to act, as well as to know how to write and apply a Project in school. Also, the learning outcomes include understanding of social context, the social aspect of education and the importance of social work in schools, especially in contemporary society. Students will also be able to assess the potentials of schools within the system of education and specific local community. Students will know what are the tasks of social worker in school and how to best work with the Professional Support Team in Schools.
      Content
      The content is divided in weekly scheduled topics: Social Work in different education institutions (preschool, primary school, high school). Social Work with children and juvenile with behavioral issues and disorders; Social Work with children with developmental challenges; Social Work with neglected and abused children; Methods of social work in schools; Standards of social work in schools; School Social Work Programs; Team Work, Developing Projects in Schools, Applying for funds and Implementation of Projects.
      Teaching Methods
      Lectures and workshops include an interactive approach. Interactive work in groups. Using video materials and documentaries. Seminars from Readings. Written seminars/papers/assessments. Oral comments and short presentations during class. Consultations
