Learning objectives | ||||
Enabling students to participate in the design and construction of hydraulic structures through familiarization with the basic types of hydraulic structures and their application, introduction of students in the way of designing hydraulic structures, introduction to basic hydraulic calculations of structures, types of static and hydrodynamic loads and specific problems related to the structures that are in contact with water.
Learning outcomes | ||||
Ability of students to participate in the design, construction and maintenance of hydraulic structures
Content | ||||
High water evacuation facilities (EO). Calculation of the bottom water flow curve. Determination of calculated EO flow. Risk management and risk analysis. The most common dispositions of EO. Overflow dam as EO. Overflows in EO: with and without constitution, hydraulic dimensioning and shaping, overflow coefficient. Conductor - high-speed overflow dam: features, hydraulic calculation and dimensioning, self-aeration, cavitation and aeration. Facilities for connection to lower water (energy pacifiers). Soothing pools. Ski bounce, erosion pit and submerged bounce. High-speed overflow and lateral overflow. Manhole overflow. Step gradient. Auxiliary dressings. Other types of evacuation facilities. Water evacuation during dam construction. Circulation tunnel. Phased partitioning of the river. Constitutions and closures in hydraulic structures. Surface interventions. Lateral grip, grip at the bottom (Tyrolean grip). Deep interventions and foundation drains. Supply and drainage facilities: canals (lined and unlined), tunnels, pipelines. Watercourse crossing facilities on inlets. Facilities on the inlets: cascades and fish paths. Other short objects on the inlets.
Teaching Methods | ||||
Classroom lectures with the help of presentation technology. Exercise classes begin with short explanations, and then students work on assignments individually or in small groups.
