Erasmus+ Info Day

Many representatives of the organizational units at the University of Banja Luka were gathered for Erasmus+ Info Day held on 18 December, 2018 in the premises of the Rectorate.

The Vice-Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Biljana Antunović, PhD, says that 69 Tempus projects and 6 Erasmus Mundus projects were successfully implemented so far.

Prof. Antunović adds that there are currently 12 ongoing Erasmus+ Capacity Building projects at the University of Banja Luka.

“Besides that, we are taking part in 25 different programs related to Credit Mobility action with the main focus on enhancing this type of mobility, which is one of the main strategic goals of the University and the line ministry”, says Prof. Biljana Antunović, PhD.

The director of the National Erasmus+ Office in BIH, Suad Muhibić, emphasized that the event organized by the University of Banja Luka is one of the promotions of the project that is the most important EU program in the field of higher education, youth and sport.

“We are currently developing 30 Capacity Building projects designed to help universities to modernize and transform in a way to improve their curricula and management structures, to introduce new study programs, and to facilitate the connection with all relevant factors of the society”, says Muhibić, praising the University of Banja Luka’s contribution to the project.

Assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Nevena Novaković, PhD, presented the project on the concept of sustainability and resilience in relation to climate change titled “Creating Knowledge labs for Sustainable and Resilient Environment”, and emphasized that this project had several objectives.

“Establishment of sustainability and resilient centers at the universities participating in the project is one of the most important goals. We created a textbook edition of this subject, having six books available online for students’ and teachers’ use”, said Novaković.

She added that the study program at the second cycle has been established based on the topic of this project, and was licenced a year ago at the Faculty of Agriculture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy where the teaching process is successfully carried out.

Other speakers at the Erasmus+ Info Day were Dejan Rosić, project associate at the Erasmus+ office in BIH, and Prof. Željka Babić, PhD, Vice-Dean for International cooperation at the Faculty of Phylology at the University of Banja Luka.
