Representatives of the University Participated in the European Researchers' Night

Representatives of several organizational units of the University of Banja Luka participated in the European Researchers' Night, held on 27 September 2019.

Part of the activities named Science Talks was held on 28 September 2019.

As for the University, the European Researchers’ Night was attended by the representatives of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Technology and the Confucius Institute.

Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society Srdjan Rajcevic opened the event at the Youth Center in Banja Luka and wished the participants a successful event and gaining of new knowledge.

The European Researchers' Night is the largest and most amusing event promoting science and research in Europe. This year it was held in Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Mostar, Bijeljina, Gorazde, Tuzla, Konjic, Brcko and Trebinje. In Banja Luka, the event took place at several locations, including the Youth Center, the Museum of the Republic of Srpska, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska, the National and University Library of the Republic of Srpska, the Children's Theater of the Republic of Srpska, Robokids, and the Technical School.

This is an event that has been held across Europe under the initiative of the European Commission since 2005 as part of FP7, and the current Horizon 2020 program, which brings together a large number of visitors and researchers once a year, on the last Friday in September.

 The aim of the European Researchers' Night is to promote scientific research and the careers of scientists and researchers, and raise awareness of the general public about research and its impact on daily life. The promotion of science and scientific research in the Researchers' Night includes different activities in the evening, with the focus being on presenting researchers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, highlighting the positive impact of research on our daily lives, and motivating young people to embark on research careers.
