Rector Talked with the French Ambassador in BH
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn 28 January 2021, Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, talked with the newly appointed French Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christine Toudic about cooperation in the forthcoming period.
At the meeting held at the Rectorate, University of Banja Luka, it was agreed to work together on the promotion of the French language among secondary school pupils and University students. It was agreed to organize a summer school, as soon as the coronavirus pandemic is over, where the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka would host the students from France. It was emphasized that these activities were to be organized together with the Embassy of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the strong support of the University of Banja Luka and the rector's team.
It was also agreed to strengthen the cooperation of the University of Banja Luka with French universities through joint participation in projects as well as the mobility of professors, teaching assistants and students.
According to the rector, the University of Banja Luka already has good cooperation with French universities. He especially emphasized the good cooperation with the University of Poitiers, the University of Lyon and others.
Ambassador Toudic stressed that there is scope for cooperation, especially in the field of agricultural sciences and information technologies. Prior to the meeting with Rector Gajanin, Ambassador Toudic gave a lecture at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Banja Luka on the topic „Why France?“.
On behalf of the University, the meeting was attended by the Vice-Rector for Material and Human Resources of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dalibor Kesić. PhD, and the Dean of the Faculty of Philology Prof. Biljana Babić, PhD. The French delegation also included cultural attaché Jean-Christophe Thibault, cooperation attaché Sylvain Rigole and French language attaché Lucille Berto.
